Massage therapist entering Keiser? ( orlando)

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi! Im a massage therapist and i have an appointment at keiser orlando monday. I have a dozen questions however i know i can find some of my answers in other articles my question is have any one went to florida college of natural health, completed an AS program and had the gen ed transfer? Also for those of you who attend the night program what was the schedule like i currently work full-time at a spa and have a daughter your info would greatly help since all the colleges want you to already have the RN license which i dont have and full time at the classroom which i cant do unless its the hands on portion i also saw that the entire class is 27 months and 40k is this correct? I already have student loans

Hi!

I'm from SW FL and I'm a student so I can try and help. It's so expensive cause it's Keiser- if you can do a CC or University I think that would be better. I'll be graduating in December with a BSN and will have paid half that... Seems outrageous to pay 40k for an ASN when you can get your BSN for half price (not saying one is better than another but I'm sure you're interesting in furthering your education after ASN and why not kill two birds with one stone!).

I had a clinical instructor once (who also sat on the Board for the hospital we had clinicals at) and she said that new grads with degrees from Keiser/Rasmussen/DeVry all those private colleges and whatnot go to the bottom of the list when looking at resumes. So maybe that's the only college in your area but if not maybe look else where. I know there are many part time night programs that could better work with your busy schedule! Good luck :)

Keiser isnt the only campus im in central Florida so it seemed like the best option to get in and out, so far the colleges wont accept any of my credits from a previous degree so i would have to start over completely when i technically would like to work asap due to season changing with massage, keiser is extremely expensive i honestly would like to find something cheaper with a night program if possible any suggestions? And how long would the class take?

Would you consider moving?

Currently i can not i would not mind relocating after im an RN however right now is not financially possible

Unfortunately I don't know much about central Fl. Maybe someone else will be able to help! Good luck though :)

Thanks for the help i decided i would go to a local community college and if the wait list isnt long by the time i finish my pre reqs then i would finish there if not the keiser would be the very lsst option however im still looking up other schools
