License renewal Chapter 260 requirements??

  1. Hey there,

My colleagues and I are all SO confused bcs we keep getting emails saying we have to complete a mandatory Domestic and Sexual Violence Training when we renew our license. However, after navigating a million links on mass.gov, all we can find is a "Training will be available soon" page. (Training for Licensed Professionals to meet Chapter 26 Requirements)

Some of my colleagues claim that you can do ANY CEUs pertaining to domestic and sexual violence and it will cover this. Others say that we have to take the course linked to on mass.gov, even though it's not ready yet.

So, I wanted to see if anyone else has dealt with this? Can I take any CEUs and be done with it? Do I just wait for the training to be posted on mass.gov? I just renewed my license, but am I risking trouble if I haven't taken this training yet?

    Thanks all!

    Hey ya'll!

Just in case anyone was lurking to find out an answer.... I found out that the training is not yet available and we MA nurses will not be held responsible for it until it is posted on the Board's website.

After it is posted, nurses who have not yet renewed their license will have 6 months to complete it and those of us who have already renewed will have until our next renewal date.

Hope this helps someone besides me!

I just joined and ecstatic both of you have commented on this as I am typically renew my Nursing license in MA this month ( due 7/30 ) and was stressed- BU SHEDs site has a program on May 16,2018 but course registration is full and I spoke to a representative at BU education and she told me to keep checking for a possible June course that is compliant with Chapter 260 . I agree the proper training modules should be available on the MA.GOV site especially since it is a mandated requirement. I highly value the above comments. Thank you!

Thank you for this information! Like others, I've been trying to find a course to meet the new licensure requirements for MA healthcare providers. I regularly check mass.gov for updates and as of today the course is still not posted.
If anyone sees it posted, please advice how to access it!
    Thanks!
