Maryville University-Think twice!

For anyone thinking about applying to Maryville Universities online FNP program, think again! I am a current student half way through the program and was denied access to start clinical because my 2 step TB test was read a week after the deadline for uploading clinical information (this deadline was set at a date almost 4 months prior to the start of clinical). That being said my graduation date will now be pushed back an entire semester. This programs speaks greatly about being conducive to the schedules of working nurses with jobs and families but when it comes down to it they are horrible at scheduling and notifying students regarding deadlines such as these. It is heartbreaking to be this far into a program where you feel trapped and stuck. On another note, I have had 4 different "student advisors" since the start of this program and only one of them has given me information to be able to contact them with any questions/concerns. Last week I sat on the line for 45 minutes listening to hold music attempting to reach my advisor because all I knew was that she was new to the Maryville online program and her first name. Awful experiences over the past year and if I could do it over again would definitely do more research before starting this program. There is a reason they are so eager to offer openings in their program to anyone with a pulse....
