Manging stress in workplace

Published

Hi

Good Evening everyone

My name is shekha I'm fourth year leadership and management student from Aliyada College for health science doing my training in king Faisal specialist hospital Jeddah Branch.

I have one question and I hope all participate and share the experience to give me the brilliant tips regarding reducing and managing stress In Workplace? Because nursing is stressful professions and now I will start my real work

Thank you, I am waiting for responds.

I am an ER nurse and it's really stressful. To combat stress, I see to it that I have enough sleep and that I rested well before coming in for work so I won't be sluggish and I will have proper reflexes when responding to emergencies. I also make it sure to eat first and drink a lot of water because there is no guarantee that I would have such luxury during my 8 hour shift.

At work, while the Emergency Department I belong to looks like a war zone because of the influx of patients and a number of trauma and critical case we handle on a daily basis, having a good work relationship and an open communication to your colleagues (both doctors, nurses, aides, clerks) also help a lot in reducing stress.

Knowing where to get things, how to use stuff and who to call is another way of reducing stress (during codes, personal and security emergencies).

After the long day at work, me and my colleagues would normally eat out somewhere to destress also. I think bonding with them after shift is also a great way to destress.
