Hi Everyone!
I am about to start an LNA class and would like to enter an LPN class in the fall of 2004 (wish I could start sooner, but all the programs are fall entry only).
I am planning to apply to St Josephs School of Practical Nursing in Nashua, NH and also Northern Essex CC in Haverhill, Ma. Is anyone familiar with either of these programs? Reputation? Acceptance rate?
Thanks,
Gina

Hey Gina,
I'm glad to hear your going for your LNA before entering a nursing program. I think it should be a requirment. You will learn a lot of useful skills for your LPN. I went to St. Joseph's School of Practical Nursing and loved it. I actually miss it. The program runs 17 months its 4 days a week 8:30-2:30 and you follow Nashua school year. So you will get the same spring, summer, and winter breaks. I think Northern Essex is a 10 month program that runs straight thru with no break. I guess it all depends on your home life, kids, work, etc. Well good luck.

Shirley,
Thanks so much for the reply! Still looking for a job as an LNA and I will be starting St.Joseph's in September! Do you have any suggestions about preparing myself for school over the next 7 months? They won't give me the book list till mid July. Today I bought "Anatomy and Physiology the Easy Way" at Barnes an Noble. I figure whatever I can learn on my own in the next months will make school a bit easier.
