I've been an LVN in Texas for 1 year. I have planned on going through the proper channels to obtain my NP. Now, I am second-guessing that decision. I still want to further my education, but am instead thinking of simply LVN to RN [ADN] (no offense to RN's, I just feel like I would be settling considering my previous goals), possibly CRNA or a different type of APN. The thing is, my change of heart is because of my two small children (I don't want to take a LONG time to get my next degree).
Can anyone identify? Offer advice?

I think it is probably going to be very similar in the amount of time it will take you to do any advanced degree. If you will be happy with whatever work you do as and ADN then that's great-if you are always going to look at the distant horizon and wish you had gone the extra mile to get your APN of some sort, then you might not be so happy and satisfied. It is all up to you. I am looking at grad school with 3 kids, but I know my happiness in my work is important too, even if time away from the family is what it takes.
