LVN to RN Bridge Program

Published

I was wondering if anyone has had any experiences with Chaffey, RCC or San Bernardino Valley Colleges bridge programs. I am applying to all three and wonder about the difficulty of the programs and rate at which students actually get placed into the RN program. Thanks

Hello. I'm applying to RCC. Have you taken nursing 18 already. I still need to do more research to see if I may possibly be able to apply to Chaffey. Does Chaffey have a transition class requirement like RCC?

No I chose not to do RCC'S Nursing 18 class because even if you pass that and then pass the skills portion, you get placed in a lottery type system so you may not get picked, so all that work and no guarantee. I don't like that. Chaffey has a nursing 3 and 3L class for their transition program, and if you pass those and score high enough on the TEAS then you get placed in 2nd or 3rd semester RN, depending on on the open spaces for those semesters .

I believe they pick based on priority 1, 2, and 3. I'm 3rd priority right now. But I hope to get in the bridge program this spring. If not I will do the two year.

I am enrolled in this Fall's Nursing 3 and 3L at Chaffey and just wondered how many people actually pass and get placed.

Do you know if the health science math course has to be completed to apply to chaffey's RN program?

The generic RN progam requires the nursing math class, the transitional program does not require it.
