hi i really want to be a a LPN but there's a lot of things im not sure about for one is it ok if i go to a private LPN school will I still be able to move on to the next level to become a RN if the school is not accredited. also has anyone heard about any of these schools i"m interested in / or attended thanks very much :)

Star Institute Llc fairfax va

Comprehensive Health Academy DC

Medical Learning Center va

capital health institute

I'm not really sure how everything works( considering I'm just about to start my lpn program in May) but I've heard bad things about schools that aren't accredited...like they are a rip off, and it's hard to get into bridge programs if you decide to do RN......

But, I'm a newbie too so I could be wrong... I would start by calling the schools you are interested in and asking them if you can transfer credits and what are the disadvantages to them not being accredited..Of course, they will make it seem 'not so bad' considering they want you to come to their school. So, I would also call your local college's and ask them if those programs are good and if you can get into their RN programs after attending them.

The best thing to do is reasearch in your area, call around as much as possible until you feel that going to one of the programs you listed will be worth your time and money...Good Luck:redbeathe

noooo don't do it.

going to a unaccredited school is the biggest waste of time and money.

if the school is not accredited you will not be able to get your license therefore you will not be able to work.

check your states board website and it should give u a list of all of the accredited schools.

and if the school is not accredited you will not be able to do any type of lvn/lpn to rn program.

whatever you do, do not attend an unacredidated school

thanks guys

so if there on the state nursing board website I should go for that?
