Hi my peers! Just wanted to create a threat were all of my fellow LPN's entering the Malcolm X. College bridge course in 2017 and nursing program can chat, and communicate our fears, happiness and everything that comes with being a student in nursing school! Our course starts next week, good luck to all of us, and please feel free to post any questions, concerns or share anything you want here in regards to the program.
Cheers to our new journey as RN students!
Sorry for the misspelling, meant to say *thread*.

Hello! I've been locked out of the site for a while and really busy with work so I haven't had time to check in.
To respond to the question from the other thread: I rented all of my books from Amazon. I couldn't afford to buy them outright at the time. The total was $130. I bought my other supplies, although I'm not sure when we're going to start using them. I'm very anxious about finding out when we can enroll for the fall and also about the lab we have to do. I've started reading the transitions book, it's interesting.
I thought about doing that and renting all the books too.....so much cheaper. I purchased one Ebook and it was expensive all by itself!! And about the fall classes I guess we'll see tomorrow then if we can sign up for them. I noticed allot of the labs are getting filled up fast, specially the ones with good rated teachers. I hope we can sign up already, otherwise we're going to get stuck with some pretty horrible teachers.
So frustrated by this program!

Hello Ladies,
Congratulations on your new transition into the RN program. I've just recently been accepted into the Pratical Nursing program. I have a few questions that I hope you all can answer for me. I have called the Nursing the department with these questions and I get a different response everytime. First off, after completing the PN program do you have to work a year as a LPN to be able to bridge or will you be automatically bridged into the RN completion after takeing the Nclex-PN. Secondly, when applying the LPN bridge program will I have to take the TEAS test again? Lastly, how was the program?
Thanks in advance!

Hi, well I graduated from CCC Practical Nursing program in 2015, I worked all of last year and then signed up for the RN. program. In my case I knew I wanted to gain experience first before continuing to the RN program. I know they say they require one year experience as an lpn, but last year and this year I've seen people in our bridge program that do not have it. So I wouldn't be able to answer that question. As far as Teas, yes you take them again to enter the bridge program. As far as I know there is no lpn to rn completion anymore only the bridge. And you have to apply to it, it's not automatic that you're enrolled. Hope I've helped with your questions. Good luck in your journey!!! I know you'll do great!

Hi! Congrats on your journey and I hope all is well with the program! I recently applied for the LPN to RN bridge program and hope to get accepted. I had a quick question which I hope you can help me with. How soon after you got your acceptance letter did you have to complete the rest of the requirements such as the proof of licensure, employment verification, drug test, etc. Please and thanks in advanced!
