I suggest these two homecare agnecies..

1. Children First located on Edgewater drive in Winter Park. They have several pediatric cases located throughout the Orlando area. They pay fairly well and you will gain some great vent, trach, gt experience. I worked there five years as an LPN. Wonderful agency.

2. PSA (Pediatric Serves of America) I worked there off and on to supplement my hours with children first. This agency is pretty good as well. They offer several cases throughout the area. The scheduling is very flexible and the pay is good.

3. There are several hospice providers...hospice of the comforter, Vitas, etc. You can work flexible schedules and have 1:1 patient care.

4. I am unsure about LTC, as I have never worked that field. I have heard positive things about some of the ALF's in the area.

5. The hospitals really don't hire LPN's for much anymore. There is a hospital in Ocoee that has LPN opportunities called Health Central. I do not know what the environment is like.

Good luck! You should have no problems finding a position. The opportunities are good and the pay is OK for the area.

On Lake Underhill there is a hospital, Florida Hospital East. It used to be called Orlando General.

As I remember it was a really good place to work. You may give it a try.

HI EVERYONE,

I AM A LPN CURRENTLY IN A LPN TO RN BRIDGE PROGRAM IN GEORGIA. THIS IS MY LAST SEMESTER AND I CAN NOT WAIT TO GRADUATE ON MAY 5TH . I AM SERIOUSLY THINKING ABOUT RELOCATING TO FLORIDA AFTER GRADUATION. MY FAMILY AND I VACATION THERE ABOUT 3 TIMES A YEAR ANYWAY SO I SAY, WHY NOT JUST MOVE TO THE ORLANDO AREA. I CURRENTLY WORK FOR PSA HERE IN GEORGIA AND I HAVE TO AGREE, THEY ARE A GREAT COMPANY TO WORK FOR. I HAVE THE FLEXABILITY TO SCHEDULE MY HOURS LIKE I WANT TO WHILE IN SCHOOL. THE SALARY IS GREAT TO FOR AN LPN HERE, SO I JUST KNOW THAT THEY PAY MORE IN FLORIDA. WHEN I MOVE TO FLORIDA THIS YEAR, I PLAN TO STAY EMPLOYED WITH THE COMPANY. I HAVE BEEN WITH THEM FOR 4 YEARS COME THIS APRIL. I CAN'T TELL YOU ABOUT ANY OF THE OTHER COMPANIES MENTIONED, BUT I LOVE PSA. I HOPE THIS HAS HELPED.
