Help! I been looking everywhere and the only one I can find is at gateway community college. I go to MCC and gateway right now. I have most things i need to get into gateway(CNA lisence,CPR card, etc.) except my fingerprint clearance card but this will take 4-8 weeks to recieve it. The deadline is in 2 weeks! I want to start the program in spring or even go all summer but I cant find a summer programs either. Im even open to online classes but I heard some have a huge waiting list or you need to have all your pre-reqs done before you can apply. I'm not looking into getting my RN degree, I just wan't some fast track LPN program and summers work for me too. What can I do? I know maricopa skills center has a LPN program but im not sure what there deadline is either. Anyone out there that can shed some light on this for me? I have not the slightest idea of what I can do.

LPN programs seem to be gradually phasing out. I heard a few months ago that Pima Community College in Tucson had dropped their LPN program. (You might want to ask the moderators to move this to the Arizona forum. :))
Often, those wishing to become LPN's go through the first half of an associate degree RN program. You have to take the same prereqs as those going for RN, but you only go to nursing school for the first year instead of both years. That's what I did. It will be easy enough to just continue the program when I am ready to continue for RN. If you don't want to become an RN, no harm done there either. You just don't continue to the second year.

I just got into the January class at the Maricopa Skill Center, they are having an info session this Wed 12/10 and I think they are still filling the January class, however another one starts in May. You have to be there for a sign up for the session at 9 in the morning and come back that same day for the session. It is a 13 month program with 3 blocks of 13/16/16 weeks with 2 wk breaks in between the blocks. Here's their website info: http://www.maricopaskillcenter.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=17&Itemid=26 Hope this helps. :)

Pima CC still has their RN program but they also still offer a fast track LPN program through their Center for Training and Development. I just talked to them last week~was considering going down there but after a quick drive down yesterday, I decided I couldn't live in Tucson! I am starting the MSC program next month, they didn't seem to really have a big wait list or anything.

Hello...just keep in mind that ALL Maricopa community colleges are tied together and that currently there is a 2 year wait list to even get into the program....
