Hey,Can anybody recommend a good sch. for Lpn prog. i will also appreciate if anyone can tell me about becoming a cna in mass.
I am currently enrolled at quincy college for their part-time lpn program and have completed my first year. In doing so, with clinical hours earned, I am also now certified to go take a test and become a CNA. Quincy College is great, and their success rate for the NCLEX is 95%. The part time program is five semesters long, They also offer full time program that can be completed in 2 semesters. currently 3000$ semester part time and 4000$ semester full time....
hey, thanks for the reply thot nobody was gonna respond. so what part of mass is quincy in. and where did u take the cna classes. do they have a waiting list in quincy and is it easy to bridge to adn. thanks!
Quincy is just south of Boston. By doing clinicals in school for LPN, I automatically earned enough clinical/lab hours to be eligible to just take the test required to be certified as a nursing assisstant. I just had my instructor type up a letter saying so. I have not yet taken the cna test, nor do i know the charge $ (I'm sure its not cheap), but I do know the red cross offers it in many areas. So now I can work as a CNA, while finishing school for my LPN. If you would rather just go to the CNA class i believe it is a 2 week course offered in many places, often nursing homes will offer it once or twice a year, you can get that info by calling red cross near you. As of right now, i don't think there is a waiting list for the part time program.. although i know the full time rn program is usually booked. They also offer an advanced placement nursing class, which is a bridge from lpn to rn, which is what i will be doing.... it is a 9 month full time or one full year part time program. You will need to have your prereq's finished before taking Advanced placement nursing (ex) college math, english comp.1, general psychology, A&P 1&2 with labs, there may be a few others.. also you must have your lpn license before taking this class to be a rn...you can call quincy college at ....617-984-1710... If this is no where near you, check your nearest college or even 2yr college for any nursing programs, more than likely they have one...good luck.
thanks! i appreciate your response.
