hi pogi12. yes, you do have to take the net exam for admission to the maricopa skills center lpn program. you have to score a minimum of 50% or higher on the reading comprehension and a minimum of 60% or higher on the math. i went to an info meeting last month and we were told that although those are the minimum scores required to apply, they will be accepting the highest scores first. good luck!
Hey!Just curious....how long did you have to wait to get into the program?I have been wanting to get into that school for awhile now and I plan on having my app turned in by the deadline which is March 15th for the May Program. Im just really hoping I dont have to wait till September! Thanks.
What were your NET scores. Maricopa skill center will not tell you what it generally takes score wise to be accepted to this program. They say the systens runs off who has the highest score on the NETs, so what's good enough to get called for the next LPN start date?
Anyone who has gone through or been accepted, help!?!!
MSC requires a NET minimum score of 50 in math and 60 in reading~it's on their website :)
I know people that didn't pass the reading but were super close that still got in...just do your best.
I was in the January start but had to take a LOA till September. Yes, the school is slightly disorganized...but, the school is decent. Some instructors are better than others. I would HIGHLY recommend that you get your CNA before attending because they don't spend much time at all in Block A on the actual skills but you still need to know them. I am getting my CNA in May and then going back in September. Good luck with everything! Let me know if you have any other questions that I may be able to answer.
I would buy a study guide from Barnes and Noble for Nursing Program Entrance Exams, or you can use the resources online. Here's a few websites that might help: http://www.testprepreview.com/nursing_practice.htm, http://www.eriproduct.com/detail.aspx?ID=1, http://www.umflint.edu/shps/UMFIND/NET%20Study%20Guide.pdf, http://www.test-preparation.ca/nursing/readingcomp.html. With the Reading Comprehension part on the test, make sure you scroll down all the way on the screen~I didn't realize that I was missing a lot of the material till the end~but, somehow still managed to pass it. You can take it again in 60 days, so just study up and relax :) You will make it if you really want it bad enough!
