I am new to Newfoundland as an LPN, I worked on the "mainland" as the locals like to say.
Finding my roles very resticted and my work in "nursing" only in title as LPN. I met an LPN from Ontario and she is seeing the same restrictions in her workplace. What is with NL? the province is great for scenery and culture, but about 10years behind in nursing practice.
When I transferred my license I had to make sure my pharmacology and health assessment were tip-top but in actuallity I don't use it. if there is the slightest hint of an either of those tools being needed the "nurse" is notified. Not thats a bad thing, but if I had to jump through all the required hoops to prove I am certified in above named areas, why is my employer hell-bent on utilizing me in a decreased role??
