LPN OR Manager?

Published

Our OR Nurse Manager is an LPN who has worked at this facility over 25 years. She has been an excellent teacher and mentor. Some of our newer staff members have a real problem with her being an LPN. I don't but wonder how others feel?

We are a small rural hospital and she is an active valuable member of our nurse Leadership Team as well.

I'd rather have an LPN that Knows what she's doing than an RN that just THINKS she knows what she doing, because when push comes to shove, I want the person who knows. I've seen excellent managers with either title. I tell you...it's not the title that makes the nurse.
