LPN jobs in NC

So...here's my story. I was struggling to get into a nursing program and when I finally got into one, flunked out b.c I chose to continue to work full time...many nights by myself with at least 21 patients. So, I'm back on the grind, retaking classes to become more competitive. I've recently reapplied to the program I flunked out of and also asked to be put in the LPN pool of applicants if I'm not accepted into the ADN program. I'd later do an LPN to BSN degree program or RN to BSN program or MSN as I'm a second degree student and pretty much have all of the pre req's needed for a BSN or MSN program. For those of you wondering why I won't just go ahead and apply to a BSN or ABSN program. My undergrad GPA is a 2.88, that I've rounded to a 2.9, my pre req GPA is a 3.2, and my GPA at the school who's nursing program I was in is now a 1.0 because I got a D in the only classes I took at that school. I think it's impossible to transfer to another school if you aren't in good academic standing at your current school. So I'm basically stuck there until I can bring my GPA up to at least a 2.0. My question is, If I'm not reaccepted into the ADN program but am into the LPN program, are there any jobs for LPN's left in NC other than maybe the prisons specifically for new grad LPN's? I'd much rather work as an LPN than a CNA assuming of course I'd be making more money and would be gaining more experience.

I'm not sure where you live but I didn't pass an ADN program and applied at another school and got into the LPN program. They only took the grades that were passing and didn't look at the others as far as acceptance criteria. I think it may different at universities, but most CC are about the same.

Whether you choose LPN or RN its going to be tough finding a job. You may not find what you really want but you have to start somewhere. I seriously doubt you will find a hospital job as a new grad LPN. But nursing homes and home care are hiring new grads.

And don't turn your nose up at a prison job, state jobs are great benefit and long term wise. Plus you would have more autonomy there unless you are worried about the population. Some people won't admit but in this job market a job is a job and be glad if you get one, get the experience then move one.

I'm in the triad area. It's more the population than the job itself. I agree a job is a job and tell my unemployed friends that every day. But honestly, I'm too much of a punk to work in a prison. I guess I'll try another school for the spring if I don't get accepted back into the ADN program or the LPN program at the school I currently attend. The highest I can bring my overall GPA up to is a 2.4 after this semester...assuming I get all A's. I plan to take A&P 2 over the summer and hopefully get an A which would then bring my GPA up to a 2.7. Hopefully by then it'll be high enough to apply to somewhere else if need be.
