LPN Hopeful at Johnson County Community College in KS

Published

I was wondering if anyone out there has completed JCCC's LPN Program? What I'm curious about is their interview process and your experience.

I am applying in September, for a start date in January, as I'll have all pre-reqs complete by then. Requirements include: A & P (I received a B), CNA certificate (starting in a week), Psych 101 (received an A), and Human Development (starting in a week), and to score 70% or higher on the HESI (only reading, comprehension, vocabulary, and math) exam. I've taken the Teas V test already and scored a 79% which I took when I was applying to a different school. I was told that was one of the highest scores they have had a student achieve to date (not sure how good that is). Not quite sure how the tests differ, but I've been practicing using android apps and websites.

I am just looking to prepare as best as I can. So any tips, ideas, suggestions are welcome!

BACKGROUND: I am currently a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant and have been for the past 2.5 years, full-time. I am soon to begin "working" 4-5 hours biweekly, shadowing an MD and an APRN in the Practice I work for.

My goals are to get into this LPN program, then take Metropolitan Community College's ADN bridge program, then Research College's ADN-MSN Track for Family Nurse practitioner. My employer offers tuition reimbursement and a 50% discount at Research College.

I appreciate you folks reading and thank you in advance for your responses.
