LPN to BSN

Published

hi,

i have the opportunity to attend a LPN program this fall. Honestly..I had until recently decided i would give up my spot in the LPN program to pursue a RN program... however; I recently found an accelerated BSN program that accepts LPN's w/ all the pre reqs/gen ed classes complete, along with students with 90 credits or students with BA's in other fields.

Would anyone suggest that I go through the LPN program first to gain experience in clinicals..maybe give me a leg up in the ABSN?

the LPN program is this fall, and last 10 months..they have 8 hour clinicals 2x a week Jan -June. The ABSN is 12 months in length..and regardless of whether I get my LPN or not first I will not be able to get into the ABSN until Jan 2013.

so would anyone recommend getting my LPN and then ABSN...or should I just finish up my 90 credits and apply for the ABSN?

also, for the next year I will get a full pell grant so the LPN school will not cost me anything....so money isnt really a factor in that.... the only down side to getting the LPN for me is extra time away from my children. The ABSN will be 100% out of pocket though unless I can get a few scholarships.

Hello,

I was wondering which accelerated BSN program you were looking into. I would love to find one. Any info would be great. Thanks.
