Hi Everyone!
I am an LPN who signed up for TCN a year ago. Due to many obligations I have been unable to start my modules until now. It is so encouraging to see all of you on here that are making such great headway with the program!
I have a few questions if there is anyone out there willing to answer them.
1) I know I should probably contact TCN about this, but can anyone tell me what is going on with the upper level classes requirement of 18 hours changing to 12 hours? How is this affecting what classes you have to test out of?
2) Anyone in Illinois out there that has done their clinicals, or is doing their clinicals right now? Can you tell me how that is going?
3) Anyone tested out of Ethics yet? How did it go?
I know I am asking for alot of info, thanks so much for your time!
I am super excited to be joining all of you in the quest of obtaining that BSN!

I am from IL. Trying to determine if I want to take the Excelsior route for RN. But i did get the information from Indiana state on their LPN BSN route. Have you looked into the excelsior route also?
Hi Natalio,
I am interested in Excelsior, but is it accepted in Illinois?
Thanks for any information!
Oh, and if you have any questions about ISU let me know!

I am currently going to ISU for LPN-BSN distance program. I purchased the study guides for phase I through The College Network. Many people feel they are overpriced, but I compared the cost to the actual cost of taking the classes at ISU and it is actually cheaper through The College Network. I have found the TCN study modules to be very thorough and helpful and have passed all my test outs with a B or better. Currently the cost of tuition at ISU is $530 per credit hour (out-of-state tuition)/$245 in-state and most classes are 3+ credit hours. The cost of the guides are around $415 each. You do the math...even with the guides and the test fees it's cheaper. Good lord I sound like a commercial! LOL!
I'm actually about 6 classes from graduating but had a little snag and have to take a couple more CLEP tests.
I'm happy to answer any questions...
mrsdiddy,
thanks so much for your reply!
I actually do have a question for you if you dont mind answering.
After finishing all your tests was it easy to transition into the nursing program? What did you have to do to get in after all the tests were done?
Also, did you have to take the Ethics test? What did you think? I will be testing out of that next Friday.
Thanks!!
