LPN admission criteria at CSN Las Vegas

Published

Hello everyone,

I would appreciate if someone can help me. I would like to apply for LPN in April. I have the Program Admission in front of me, which says: "The CNA course ( NURS 130:6 credits) must be taken prior to or concurrent with the first semester of the Practical Nursing Program. The CNA Certification exam must be successfully completed by the end of the second semester of the Practical Nursing Program. Those who hold a current NE VEDEM LA FARA 20? Assistant certification have already satisfied this requirement."

I already finished last year in December my NURS 130, I passed the exam, both written and clinical, and I have a Certificate. But, I failed the exam for Nevada State Exam, at the Board of Nursing, and I am not eligible anymore to apply for exam.

My question is: is it enough my CNA Certification from CSN, or do I need a Certification from the Board of Nursing, the State one? I was trying to find out at CSN, no one really seems to know precisely.

I know some of you applied and finished the LPN Program, so you must know better, I would really appreciate and answer.. Thank you

Hello, I'm in my second semester of the PN program. First, you got a certificate of completion from CSN, not your CNA certification. You need to have your CNA certification from the BON because, if I remember correctly from when I applied last year, they ask for your certification number when you apply for the program. I'm a little confused, however, how it is that you are no longer eligible to take the state exam. I've known people that have failed it the first time around and then just took it again at a later time.

Thanks for your answer, much appreciated. I am not eligible, because is been more then one year, I have to take the class again.
