Loyola ABSN Spring 2015

Published

Hey everyone, I am trying to find out if anyone else on here applied to Loyola's program? I applied in July, and I have everything sent in, so now I'm just keeping my fingers crossed. :)

I just got my acceptance letter! Woot! Admission is rolling, so people should be hearing soon....

Congrats SampsonSis! When was your application finalized? How long did it take for you to hear back?

Any word Planemo?

I just finalized my application last week...

Sadie, my last letter of recommendation was submitted on 9/11, and I got my letter of acceptance on 9/29. So it took 18 days.... you have time! It's a pretty quick turn around, all things considered. Best of luck to you!

I checked in my application and there is a notification that I was accepted! It's conditional acceptance because I still have a few pre-reqs in-progress and will need to get a B.

I also have been looking at financial aid and it seems I missed the deadline for the FAFSA for spring/summer...anyone else in this boat or have any advice on what they are doing for financing?

Hi! I am in the same position sadiemonster. I went ahead and filled out a FAFSA anyway, especially since the acceptance is so close to the start day. I guess I will find out more once it is processed and received by Loyola. I am excited!

Congrats everyone on getting in! I received a conditional acceptance too, very excited. I submitted my FAFSA in time, I believe, but no word on what I've been awarded yet. It's hard to get aid for a second bachelors so I won't be surprised if I'll need to seek aid elsewhere. A friend of mine said she got the best interest rate on a second bachelors through Wells Fargo. Good luck! Looking forward to meeting everyone.

This response is a few years late:whistling:, but I wanted to follow up with my original post, and say that I was accepted to the program and I did complete it. If anyone has questions about it, please feel free to post or message me.

Hi Planemo, I am about to submit my application for the Spring 2018 cycle can you inbox me I cant seem to figure out how to inbox you on this thread. I had a few questions regarding Loyola's ABSN program

Hey, sorry for the late reply! I messaged you back =)

Hi Planemo, longtime lurker and first time poster here - I am considering Loyola's ABSN along with a few other programs and would appreciate your candid thoughts about the program if and when you have the time.

1. In many posts from years past, it sounds like the program was very disorganized. Did you find that to be true while you were in the program?

2. Did you feel well-prepared for the NCLEX and for getting your first job after the program?

3. Loyola said they do not post job placement rates for their graduates, which makes me a little nervous - anecdotally, do you think most of your cohort-mates found jobs within a few months of graduation?

4. Anything else you wish you had known going into the program?

Many thanks in advance.
