I worked at Sharp and Kaiser Permanente. Both are very good hospitals, and I do hear great things about UCSD. You also have Children's Mercy too. There are several hospitals in San Diego. I miss S.D soooo much. I was raised there, and left to go to nursing school in Missouri, and haven't been back. Just be prepared for the cost of living which is higher than that of Vegas. But I must say its a beautiful city, I miss the beaches! Good Luck

I currently live and work in Las Vegas. I graduated 2 years ago from UNLV. I'm an RN, and have been working in Med-Surg, going on 2 years now. I've lived in Vegas all my life and need a change. I'm wondering if anyone can recommend hospitals I should apply to in San Diego. I just got through applying for a California license by endorsement. I just sent in the paper work today. I'm not picky on where I should work. I'm not too familiar with San Diego, so I just need some guidance. I don't have any ICU experience, but I don't mind working in any area. All of my experience has been in med-surg thus far, so I'm preferably looking for a job in that area, in an acute hospital setting (not a nursing home or hospice). I appreciate and look forward to receiving any suggestions or thoughts!
I have applied to Kaiser Permanente and Scripps Memorial Hospital so far, but I have not heard back. I'm wondering if it's because I stated I did not have a California license. I'm not easily discouraged though because I know I have not put in as much effort in applying as I should yet, so I definitely will do so.
