Looking suburban area in TEXAS

Looking for some advice tips from fellow nurses working in suburb of Austin Texas. Looking to work in Nursing facility with union benefits. I have 1199 from NY does it get transfered or Texas has its own rule? Any information or suggestions will be beneficial.
