Looking into School... Help!

Nurses General Nursing

Published

HI!

I will have an appt. with someone over at the local Tech. School this month to discuss applying for classes etc. Man! talk about a commitment. It looks like I'm going to need a few courses and I might throw a couple more in from Adult Ed just to hone my skills. The last time I was in a classroom, Led Zepellin was still on the charts. My thinking is to do this remedial stuff for the next year to two years and get my CNA so I can at least be working on building up a resume for admission to the 2 year course.

Question! They offer a 1 year with 34 credits for nurse, a 65 credit course and a 69 credit course. What is the main difference between them and is it easier just to do the two year stint at once?

Can anyone tell me what the other expenses and hidden costs might be for a course like this.

Any feedback is good feedback. Thanks!

I don't know much about that avenue of study, but have you looked into your community college? They often have programs and you will earn college credits in case you want to advance in your career someday. I don't believe a tech school can offer transferable credits, but I may be wrong on that.

The community college offers all the remedial courses as well.

Where I live, The Tech. School is the equivalent of Community College and credits are transferable to 4 Universitys throughout the state. The other classes I need I will have to set up with one of the other schools.
