I live in Chicago area. As a generalization, the least expensive way to get a CNA is to go to a community college. If you're a resident, you get in-district tuition which makes it an inexpensive option.

There are for-profit institutions in the Chicago area that offer CNA training too. They will be more expensive than a CC, assuming you are a resident.

You won't find a school that has everything. CNA training is easy to find in Chicagoland. But getting into nursing school is difficult almost everywhere. Huge number of applicants, lots turned down. But still, you must try.

Worry about the CNA first and then you can look at nursing schools. A lot of the suburban schools, and universities, have either/or LPN/RN.

Truman College, one of the City Colleges of Chicago, offers both the CNA and the LPN courses. The website for the CCC is:

http://www.ccc.edu/

And Truman's page on CNA classes:

I actually moved from Chicago back to WI to do my RN. I start clinicals in August. The cost of living is much lower and I am able to live with family. I'll be returning to Chicago upon completion of my ADN. Best of luck to you!

I was wondering how much does it cost @ Career training center in Chicago?

Thanks,
