Looking for some advice

Published

I have always dreamed of becoming a nurse ever since I can remember; however, there are some things holding me back that I would love to get advice on:

I have a 4 month old daughter and a fiance at home, my fiance does not have a job at this point in time but he is working on it. (it will most likely be a minimum wage job). We live with my parents because they want me to be able to be able to accomplish my dreams, since a minimum wage job from my significant other will not be able to support baby girl and housing/other bills. So obviously I need a way to bring in some more money so I was thinking about becoming a CNA or LPN first. I like the idea of being able to make money faster, but I am worried about not being able to go back to nursing school due to needing the money on top of taking care of my little girl.

Next:

I am not sure how I will handle seeing people in pain/blood/etc. I can watch it on health tv shows and stuff but I am afraid of how I will adjust in reality. Is it something that you become accustomed to after being around it or...?

Last but not least:

I definitely want to end up having a Masters degree (if I am able to actually do nursing) So planned on going for a BSN and then working until I can get my Masters. The only little problem with that is that I dont want my kids being 5 or 6 years apart (because I plan to work a little bit afterwards to I can have my job secured) Hence, why it brought me back to getting an LPN or CNA so that I can have one more before into nursing school but idk...

So...what do you think?

Thanks in advance!! :)
