anyone applying for spring 2013?

don't know if the bunnies are still there after construction, i heard they were getting rid of them. what a shame.
as for the school, i still have ptsd from their rn program. i will never send my kids there for nursing (rn), if they choose that career. it's basically like a hardcore bootcamp. you have to pass a different skill/area of study each few weeks. if you fail, you are out of the program. after all the work put in doing the prerequisites and getting loans, etc....you can have your dreams crushed so easily. there is no help like tutoring or second chances. the instructors are hard-nose *******. the mentality of "weeding out the weak ones" is alive an well there. not a friendly education experience.
the lvn program is not that bad. more laid-back and better instructors. more education-friendly.

can anyone verify this?

it's an absurd post, in my opinion. these are bitter individuals that did not commit to the program and thought they could scrape on by by just attending class. the fact is, every nursing school is tough.

"if you fail, you're out of the program".... no surprise there. i would like to know of any school that doesn't do this.

the purpose of every nursing school is obviously to "weed out the weak" because lets face it, would you really want a student who prefers "laid back teachers" to take care of your family members in the icu? tutoring is available, and there is a vast amount of resources available on campus (skills lab, learning center, quiz review, sim lab etc). i graduated from both lvn and rn programs at lbcc and although it is highly stressful, i wouldn't go as far as to bad mouth it. sure, some of the policies are terrible, but the education you receive is worth it. lvn program is more "black and white". you still need to know your stuff, but your assessments, lab interpretations, iv calculations and titrations, and overall decision making is what you learn the rn portion. don't let other peoples poor decisions and lack of commitment discourage you from applying. i highly recommend this program iff you are willing to put in the long hours of studying and hard work.

thanks for the advice. i completely agree with you. it's all about hard work being put in and the 100% effort from our ourselves to successfully finish the rn program. i was just surprised that somebody would write that on yelp. didn't expect school reviews. usually, yelp is known for their restaurant reviews. :specs:
