Hello all! I've been patiently awaiting the acceptance/ denial letters for entrance into the LVN to RN transition program at Lonestar Kingwood. I got my letter today and I was accepted as an alternate. I'm so bummed. I know its because of my C in Comp 1 in 1998. Yea I know that kinda lets you know my age. I worked really hard to get the A in anatomy and the B in Pharm( which should have been an A). Anyway my overall score was 6.67. I'm going to continue with my letter of intent and go through the checklist. I'm curious how far down the alternate list I am. Anyone else out there in the same boat??

Hello congratulations on making it this far don't give up I'm also on alternate list with a 7.1 score. I keep seeing a lot of ppl make it to the alternate list for Kingwood so I'm sure it's a long list. I'm going to accept and go forward with the other requirements and just hope I get in by August. It's a little confusing some of the requirements tho
Congrats to you too JennyJay! Are you basic track or transition? I'm going to go forward also with the other requirements. If I don't get picked up, I'm going to retake my English (ugh!!!), and anything else I can get out of the way. The only thing, is I'll have to retake the HESI to apply in the spring because my score will be over a year old by then. I did rather well on it so thats a bummer too lol. Having to retake something you did well in really annoys me too but if thats what I have to do I'll do it. I'm confused as to where to email the intent to enroll letter....
Thank you !!
I applied for the LVN at Kingwood and I'm getting a little worried because it's a lot of alternates. My HESI also expires soon hopefully I won't need to retake it. For the LVN Program we have to email our acceptance. Valerie Aguirre the head of the Nursing Dept. I would call and check with them tho to be sure
I emailed her and she said it says on our letter where to send it but it doesn't lol. I did what you said. I emailed it to her and the director. So lets keep our fingers crossed!!
I did the same!

Hey myturn, I too applied for the transition at Kingwood and also got the alternate email, very dissappointed but am def going to continue with the application process. I had 3 B's and a 90% on my HESI. My over-all was also a 6.6
I'm right there almost the same boat. I made a C in Eng 1301 a long time ago when I was 19 and didn't care as much. I have an A in Anatomy and a B in Pharm. I didn't have time to retake Eng and was hoping I didn't have to, but if I don't get called for the fall semester, I'm going to retake it. I too have a 6.66. Now my concern is the dumb hep B series. My titer showed I wasn't immune so I restarted the series back in March. I guess it really doesn't matter if they don't call lol.
Hey ! Did you get in yet ?
