Lone Star programs

Published

Originally I wanted to apply at Cy-Fair. I knew nothing about the differences in Lone Star programs other than theirs is a block curriculum and the others are integrated.

But having talked to a few people in the program and some interactions with staff, I'm not so sure I'd want to go there. From what I've read, they seem more competitive in admissions than the other schools. The most compelling reason not to go for me is how the students are treated. Now I'm not a student but if what im told is true, then why is Cy-Fair so high on the list of programs in the Lone Star system?

Unless there's a compelling reason to ignore the accounts of students regarding Cy-Fair, I'd rather redirect my efforts toward Tomball and North Harris. Even if Cy-Fair is less than 2 miles from my home I'd want to go where I have an opportunity to thrive. Nursing school sounds hard enough without the added stress of a staff that doesn't invest in their students.
