Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

i am currently a senior attendind pomona high school in pomona ca. im very confused about the steps i need to take to become an rn. from what i have read it is possible for me to take my alg 2 and physics pre-reqs at my high school and then continue the other pre-reqs at a community college. if that is true i am considering mt. sac as my first choice and i would very much appreciate if anyone could assure me that they have the following classes so that i can complete my pre-reqs:[color=#231f20][color=#231f20]

[color=#231f20]these are the pre-reqs for loma linda university. i would also like to know if it is possible to participate in a "bridge" program from mt. sac to loma linda once im finished with my pre-reqs or if it is required that i take my pre-reqs at the same school where i plan to enter the actual nursing program. also any information on the cost of entering the nursing program with loma linda and any adivce or reccommendations for cheaper schools would help me a lot. thank you.

i am currently attending Mt SAC for the nursing program. the requirements are different, depending on where you intend to complete your degree and which degree to pursue (a bachelor's vs an associate's degree).

loma linda has a laundry list of pre-reqs for their nursing program, while Mt SAC only requires four: Anatomy (ANAT35), Physiology (ANAT36), Microbiology (MICR1) and English 101 (ENGL1A). Plus, Loma Linda is a private university = expensive, while Mt SAC, being a community college, only charges $20/credit. The only drawback is that there is a wait list for the Nursing program, but it's not as bad as people think. I only waited for a year and a half. i'm not sure if loma linda has a wait list, but considering the price of going there there shouldn't be any.

so, weigh your concerns and figure out which is more important to you. if money is an issue, go with Mt SAC. if time is an issue, go to loma linda.

good luck!:)
