Lived Experience of Aesthetic Nurses in the Philippines

Published

Hi guys! I am asking for help for my research to finish my Masters Degree here in the Philippines. I have worked in a Aesthetic Clinic as a Aesthetic Nurse before. In the Philippines, there are no schools for medical aesthetics. So if you want to enter the field, you must be a registered nurse with Intravenous Therapy licensed. You will undergo an on the job training for a month or more. Sadly, the training is more on performing the different procedures. The concepts has been missed. Does anyone here who can lend me a pdf book or journal about Aesthetic Nursing? I am having a hard time researching for a good literature review. I can't find or grasp of the concept of this field.

Specializes in Peds, Med-Surg, Disaster Nsg, Parish Nsg.

Thank you so much! Your a big help. :)

Hi Czarina,

I like the course at lasertraining.org, as it leads to an actual certification for aesthetic laser operator. I too spent about $5,000 attending a training program for a week, but at the end of it, I got a "Certificate of Participation", which is very inferior to an actual certification. I'm pasting the URL for lasertraining.org, and I highly recommend their courses.

Good luck, follow your dreams,

Margaret, ARNP

Hi Margaret,

Thank you so much for the nice input. I will share this with my co-aesthetic nurses. We also have laser trainings but it was only from the manufacturer of the machine that we are using. Sadly, they fail to teach us some of the basic concepts of it. The anatomy of the skin was not reviewed and the growth cycle of the hair was failed to mention, that is why we need to research in the internet for additional information. I am so glad that you have bothered to share this information.

Good luck to me
