LIU Brooklyn Campus

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Does anyone in the new york city area attend LIU Brooklyn Campus?

I'm thinking about applying there and I was wondering if their nursing program is any good.

I am attending LIU right now, the school is easy to get into, but the program itself is extremely demanding, you have to take HESI exam after each semester. If you get under 800 on the score, you will have to take a remedial course, you can repeat only one couse, and get a B+ otherwise you get kicked out from the program.

Thank you for responding

How much is the tuition each semester?

And how are the professors and classes there?

I attend LIU, when I first came to the school my GPA wasn't high enough for the Nursing program but right now I have it at a 3.5 and I'm in the nursing program. I haven't started nursing classes yet. Before you start nursing classes you have to be CPR certified and you have to take an entrance exam. I've heard some bad things about the programs years ago but they revised the program in the fall semester so now you have to take medical dosaging classes and such. I hear it's very good as of right now and they accept about 150 - 200 students. They have a lot of pre-reqs though so you might have to do an extra semester/year depending on you.

The school focuses on it's health profession programs more than anything so they get the revised equipment and it's been my seeing that the health profession students work very hard and are very dedicated. However, tuition is very steep and costs about 23,000 a year but tuition is based upon how many credits you're taking there is no set value.

geez hesi every sem or repeat?is it me or is that a money making scheme

I'm looking at applying @ LIU Brooklyn for next fall....
