Time flies doesn't it? I thought nursing school would never end and I'd be sooo happy when it would be... Well now that it's gotten closer, I'm starting to get scared. It seems like everyone in my class knows what they want to do right after graduation and passing boards. I, on the other hand, have a very vague idea... I'm not sure where I want to work at right after :uhoh21: Did anyone else go through this? I'm a bit stressed over it and almost don't want nursing school to end :imbar

I feel the same way. It seems like everyone has their job lined up. We only have 4 weeks untill graduation. I am so excited to finally be here, but I feel like I am the only one who hasn't gotten my plan together for post graduation.
Well, I have finally gotten on it and will hopefully have some interviews comming up soon.:)

Hi,
I graduated in June and, yes, I was one of the ones who had a job all lined up. But I couldn't start working till I had my license and it took about two months for me, I also moved out of state though. There were plenty of people in my class who didn't have a job right away and most of them have managed to find something between now and then. A few of the local facilities wouldn't even let you apply for an RN position before you had your license, so there ended up being plenty of jobs to go around. There are still a couple people who haven't passed their boards yet or haven't even taken their boards.
As long as you can afford to have a few weeks or a month off before you start working I say enjoy the vacation because it's going to be your last one for a while...
I also recommend finding a good new grad program or a long orientation when you start. I got hired into peds and I have a 12 week orientation and it's been a great thing for me since my school didn't emphasize peds at all.
