Hi All,
This is my first time posting a thread so I hope it goes well. I work in the operating room of a level I trauma center with 31 rooms in a major city. They are reviewing the call policy and I was wondering if anyone could help me by answering a few questions about where they work...
1.) What type of hospital do you work in? Teaching center(E.g. level 1
trauma, how many ORs) On average, how many cases do you perform per
day?
2.) Do you have limitations on how many hours of continuous call &
working time a staff member can take? If yes, does there have to be a
certain amount of time off between shifts?
3.) Does your hospital have an on-call position? If so, how does it
work and do you think it is successful?
4.) Does your hospital have self-scheduling for call? How does it
work? Do you think it's successful?
5.) Do you distinguish between part time and full time employee call
requirements?
6.) If you have specialty call (e.g. cardiac) how is it handled?
7.) How many staff members do you have scheduled to work at night?
Thanks for the input!
