Hi!
I am a 27 year old mom of a 1 year old. I graduated with a Bachelor's in Sociology back in 2005 from CSULB. After having my son I have had the desire to become a nurse. I have been mostly looking into LBCC (Long Beach City College). I have all of the necessary classes EXCEPT the core pre-reqs (Anat, Phys, Micro). I will be staring Anatomy in the fall and take Phys and Micro in the spring to apply to the program by the July 2011 application period.
I have a real passion for caring for people and labor and delivery nursing is where I am most interested in getting to. Is it true you need a BSN to do this?
I would love to hear from anyone who is in or was in the LBCC nursing program as to your experiences and suggestions.

It's going to depend on your area on the whole ADN vs BSN thing. If your area does hire ADN nurses then you can get hired in any specialty, including L&D, they might want you to have experience but you'll be able to try lol.
