Lansing Community College Questions- 2014/2015

Published

I am planning on applying for LCC's nursing program March of 2015.

I will have the following points:

10- Residency

80- GPA

Completion of All Courses- 40

Micro Lab completed- 6

10- Work Experience

10- Volunteer Experience

6- CNA Class

That leaves me with 162 points. I feel like that is a definite entry into the program wouldn't you say? Last year's cut off was 141 and from what I have been told from counselors is that the cut off number keeps going down.

HOWEVER... At the nursing seminar, they mentioned something about a possible "big" change to the program summer of 2014 yet never specified or confirmed. I am nervous because I am leaving my university and 4 years of my life for this program since it will take me a while to apply getting all of the pre-req's.

Has anyone else heard of this? Also, I would love to hear your good/bad experiences with LCC's nursing program.

I'm graduating from the traditional 2 year track in 6 days. It's probably the hardest thing I've ever done, but has been worth it. LCC has a very good reputation for a reason. The program is hard, but it will make you a great nurse in the end. Just make sure it's what you want because you have to really dedicate yourself and commit.

I think that the only big change will be the points cut off since we have until May to finish our prereq's now. I have 145 points & I'm reaaallly hoping that will be enough

Good luck! I will have either 145 or 149 points :)
