Landed my dream job in LDRP..any tips?

Published

I keep reading my job offer over and over. I graduated exactly one month ago and I was just offered my dream of working in LDRP. This is all I've ever wanted. I can't believe how lucky I am. Anyway now that getting the job is accomplished, I want to be the best LDRP nurse I can be. Please post any and all tips you have!

Congrats! I'm in your position, starting my first L&D job next month. But it took me 3 years, so you are very lucky! I would also love to hear any tips from experienced nurses. The one thing that I heard in my interviews was reviewing basic fetal heart monitoring was the best use of my time, so that is what I'll be doing! QCOM - Fetal Heart Monitoring - Home Page This is a website I found in an older thread that seems to be a decent review.

Good luck!

I agree with being familiar with basic fetal monitoring. But aside from knowledge and skills, which you will learn, please listen more than you talk. Take initiative. Show up on time. Help others when you have down time. I know it all sounds basic but it's amazing how many people are lacking in these areas. Good luck to you both.

Congrats!! Like the above poster said, be on time, listen, ask plenty of questions. And don't be scared to just jump right in. Good luck!
