I am interviewing on the 25th, and wanted to start this thread for fellow applicants. I've been told that the interview consists of two 1 on 1 sessions with the program director and assistant director. One section is personality-based, while the other is fairly technical. I have been preparing, and am hoping for some insight as to how deep into pharmacology I should focus. It seems that most programs ask you to describe an interesting case, and build the technical questions around that scenario. Thus, I am focusing on the meds involved in my case of choice, as well as alternative meds branching from there. I plan on knowing mechanisms of action, receptor sites, complications, and pros/cons to contrast similar drugs. Do most programs expect deep chemical knowledge (metabolites, specific structures, etc.) beyond this? I am expecting to have to say "I don't know" to some questions, but I also don't want to come off as unprepared. I would love to hear from other applicants, as well as those with any insight regarding my questions. Good luck to everyone who has applied!

How was it ?!!!!
Sorry, I just now saw this. My interview last year was rough, and it was also my first from the schools to which I applied. After the initial presentation about the program, I spent close to an hr being asked clinical questions 1 on 1 by the program director. I was terribly nervous, and probably a little unprepared for this, and did not do as well as I wanted. She was nice and asked some guiding questions when I fell off track, but I left feeling pretty disappointed. The interview with the assistant director was mostly personality questions, along with a couple of clinical ones, and went much better. Ultimately, I did not get in, but they asked me to come back and re-interview for the following year. Luckily, I used this experience as guidance for future interviews, and was ultimately accepted elsewhere.
