Hi! I'm considering applying for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program at Kwantlen Polytechnic University (in BC).
However, I'm just wondering if anyone else has applied there/already in that program, or already graduated from their program. If so, how did you like it?
They seem to have a different way of selecting, as it says something about a lottery system. They don't seem to need/ask for volunteering and it doesn't seem like interviews/reference letters are usually done either.
I'm just thinking that if this is the way they go about selecting their applicants, that maybe the program isn't as strong as some of the other schools in the Fraser Valley/Greater Vancouver area, such as UFV, BCIT, etc.
All replies/comments appreciated.
Thanks,
helisha

I was considering applying for this program and just spoke to a councillor on Monday. The nursing program is actually changing to something similar to BCIT's program and you need ~30 credits before applying. You also need like a B in math 12 and a C+ in biology 11? I can't remember exactly. She never mentioned if they'd be adding a wait list but she did mention they'd be selecting students by GPA instead of the lottery system.
I am not sure if this is really happening or if they are just considering options. But maybe look out for some changes or speak to a councillor so you could find out for sure. It'd be pretty horrible if you tried to meet certain requirements only to have them change on you.
