Hi,
I am currently in the pre-clinical component at Kingsborough. I am taking Psych 11, Bio 11, and Soc 31 and am doing well in all three. I have already taken my English classes and recieved an A and an A- Eng 12 and 24 respectvely. I plan on applying for the Clinical component and taking my Sci 25 next semester. I was wondering if there is anyone who goes/ has gone to Kingsborough Nursing program and what kind of grades are needed to get into the program. Their website claims that a 2.5 is sufficient but I have heard it is extremly competivie. If anyone could help and put a more concrete number I would be greatly appreciative.

Hi
I'm in the same program. Speak with George Nicolades (not sure if I have the right spelling) in the Allied Health office M401. He's a good guy, a real student advocate and has been a great source of information and assitance.
From what he told me this week, the first thing they look at is you NLN score. If you and another person have the same score and both are being considered, they then look at your class grades, focusing on the bios, A&Ps and sciences.
Want anymore advice (I've done all my pre-reqs except Science 25, which I'm doing now) I'm more than happy to pass on what I can, including notes and stuff.
Good luck!

i attended Kcc from 2006-2007. i left because of a bad mix up...... I had a remedial math class.... took the test after and received my results that i failed..... 2 days before class start i received a letter that said i passed but it was too late, i already put in for other classes that i didnt need so that i can try again for the program....... I took a math class that i didnt need and ended up receiving a F. told the counselors about the mix up and they told me I can try else where. My GPA went from a 3.7 to a 2.58.... still wasnt allowed to enter the preclinical phase cuz of THEIR MIX UP!!!!! Still took my A&P classes and had B's in both but i decided to leave the school..... its very competitive to enter their program.
thanks for the help...
brooklynguy... thanks if I have any question I'll definetly ask, I jsut transfered here from SUNY Maritime, I had 69 engineering credits so nothing really carried over but my english classes , I am hoping to get into the program by next spring... Thanks again ... how is sci 25 i hears its alot of time?
Sci 25 isn't bad at all, especially after A&P I & II. The professor is fantastic...one of the best I've ever had (I have a BA already, so I've seen my share of the good and bad.) With your engineering background, it should be a breeze for you.
