Is anyone out there know anything about KSU's accelerated BSN program? Anyone in the program? Have graduated from it? I'm starting in August and would like some info besides what the schools feed you!
Thanks!

I have not went through the program, but I used to live in the Akron/Kent area, and Kent is a great school. They also have a wonderful MSN program. If I move back to Ohio in a few years, that is were I will be applying for the mental health nurse practioner (MSN) program. Good Luck!!
I'm from the Akron area as well, so I know their traditional BSN program is highly regarded. I was hoping to get some info on how it is doing the BSN in 15 months, where clinical rotations are done, etc. I'm hoping to eventually become a PA, but if that doesn't work out AND the NP programs don't switch to the DNP, I'll probably become an ACNP or NNP. I can't pick :) As a PA, I want to work in trauma surgery and emergency medicine.

I go to the University of Akron, but I have heard a lot of great things about KSU's program :)
Are you in the traditional or accelerated BSN at Akron? I would prefer to go to Akron (closer to home and clinical sites), but they have a lot more prerequisites that I don't have the time to take and aren't required for grad school.
I am in the traditional but I am possibly switching over to the accelerated in about a year, so I will graduate a semester earlier (Fall 2010 vs. Spring 2011). I know that for the accelerated you have to have a bachelor's degree in something else but someone was telling me that if we can get enough people, we can make the switch. Of course I need to talk to our course coordinator about this just to make sure. But personally, I love Akron's nursing program, it's great :) And the pre-reqs are a little tedious but if you have some of them done already (like A&P) from another college, they might be able to transfer over :)
Here's another question... can somebody give me a run down on Kent's clinical rotations? Obviously some are easy to figure out... peds, ob, psych, and critical care. But what are the others and what do they entail?

Red classes are clinicals.
