Keiser University Grad 2013....Need a job! Advice?

U.S.A. Florida

Hello all!

I just graduated from Keiser University in Aug 2013...What a relief! Passed my boards 75 questions and out....Thank God! Now I am in search for a job! Any good advice out there for where to apply as a new grad? I am noticing that this is going to be a huge obstacle. Everyone wants a nurse with experience. I am willing to work anywhere to gain some experience.

Did you graduate this year?

How did you approach your job search?

Where do you recommend?

All advice is greatly appreciated!

Valerie S.

I don't have any info about your questions but if you could, do you mind telling me what your schedule was during the nursing program? Like how many days a week did you have clinicals and what times, same with actual class days. Just trying to figure out what days of the week and times the core nursing schedule is so I can plan for work. I'll be going to the tampa campus, which campus were you at? Thanks !

I was in the Fort Lauderdale campus. The schedule pretty much had one day off a week. 2 days of lecture per week and 2 days of clinicals a week. Lecture was typically 8-2 but it varied from time to time...The clinicals were usually 630/7am to 4pm and they got longer as you move on through the semesters til you get to a 12 hour clinical in the last semester. We pretty much had to be available at all times due to skills checkoffs, sims labs, and tutoring if needed.

Good luck in the program. For the most part it was a great school...

I'm thinking of going to keiser as a backup plan if I don't get in the FSCJ nursing program.

Can you tell me how was the program? Was it hard? Are the teachers good teachers?

How much was the initial tuition?

The tuition was about $7000 a semester but you may want to call to verify. It really is a great program and teachers really try to help by offering tutoring sessions... But overall it is up to you to really put your mind to it and buckle down for the long haul

I would be starting my pre r. Classes june 2 and im so excited yet scared what advise can anyone give?
