Hi all!
First off I want to thank everyone for all their posts on this site. It really helped get me through the period before the NCLEX and gave me hope. I passed the NCLEX this Saturday with 96 questions!!
When I would read posts on this site, I told myself I would post here to let everyone know my scores on Kaplan if I passed the NCLEX. Two things I want to let you know before I get to the scores...
1- I have a spreadsheet that I used to track my progress and highlight my weak areas. If anyone is interested in using this, just shoot me a message and I can send it your way.
2- I could have done without the Kaplan "in person" course. Having access to the Qbank and Trainers was excellent prep, but the Decision Tree got me nowhere. I always ended up on Step 5 - which meant I was basically coming to the answer the way I would have if I didn't know the tree existed - with my own knowledge. On the NCLEX, I used the process ONE TIME.
And now for my Kaplan scores:
Diagnostic Test: 56%
Qtrainer 1: 56%
Qtrainer 2: 63%
Qtrainer 3: 60%
Qtrainer 4: 57%
Qtrainer 5: 57%
Qtrainer 6: 61%
Qtrainer 7: 56%
Qbank Average: 63%
Readiness Test: 66%
Practice 1: 60%
Practice 2: 64%
Practice 3: 77%
Practice 4: 24% (this one is all SATA and yes, I am very embarrassed by this)
One last tip...
Stay calm if your test goes passed 75 questions. When I saw 76 pop up, I sort of panicked. I couldn't concentrate and I felt like a failure. Finally, after question 95, I made myself take a break. I went back in the room and finished it at 96. Questions 76-96 were incredibly stressful and I just want to help you stay positive if you get to that point.
Sending good vibes your way...
Lisa :)
