Kaplan Helped Me Pass the 2016 NCLEX (75 Questions)

Published

I attribute so much of my success on the NCLEX to Kaplan.

Everyone I talked to told me to do practice questions. Well, they're right. When it comes NCLEX time, knowing content is essential to answering questions but figuring out what to look for and how to answer the questions is just as important.

Kaplan helped me to understand what exactly to look for when answering questions. It also helped me psychologically by displaying the questions in the same exact graphic format as the NCLEX screen. When I finally got to the test center and sat down to take the test, it was like I was sitting in Starbucks doing the practice tests all over again. I was nervous and (like everyone else) felt that I had failed after the test had finished. Two hours later I got an email from the state saying that my new license was ready to be viewed.

For those who are interested, here are my results..

Question Trainer Scores

Diagnostic: 53%

QT1: 55%

QT2: 43%

QT3: 40%

QT4: 48%

QT5: 55%

QT6: 43% (SATA only)

QT7: 55% (Priority only)

Readiness: 75%

For the QBank, I always did test mode (timed, no answers until the end.) After every test, I would write down notes from questions I answered incorrectly and questions that I was unsure of. My QBank scores never really got that much better.. I got my lowest QBank score a week before the NCLEX.

QBank Scores

Total: 1,300

Average: 53.2%

High: 63%

Low: 43%

I came to allnurses after each of my QT tests and whenever my QBank scores weren't very assuring. I figured I could add another success story that maybe someone else will find useful.

Also to note, I tried the NCLEX Mastery App but I found that to be more content driven. I learned some material from their questions but the big thing for me was learning how to answer NCLEX style questions. I was also automatically enrolled in an ATI course via school which I also didn't find very helpful.

Take care and good luck!
