GabrielaTorrealba,

How was the Kaplan exam? Any advice for preparing for the science section?

ndb0001 - I got your PM but I don't have enough posts to reply, lol! I mainly lurk...

I took the Kaplan! It was (in my opinion) VERY straight forward. The science was basically all physiology/pathophysiology - either you know it or you don't, there's no way to really "study". I had no chemistry questions, no geology or anything like that that's covered in the study guide. The patho questions I recall as being pretty logical - even if you didn't KNOW the answer it was easy to guess by process of elimination and simple logic.

The math was ALL fractions and dosage calculations, and there's a small basic calculator (like the kind you have on your computer) within the test that you're allowed to use. It was totally easier than I expected. The study guide covers geometry and all this other stuff and I was pretty nervous about it but seriously, it was almost all fractions.

I did pretty well - I got a 90%. Only 2 other people at my school got in the 90s - one was a 92 and the other a 96 I believe. The average was around 77. Most people scored in the 80s.

Good luck! It's seriously not too bad!

Hi ndb0001,

Sorry so late but I cannot send private messages. My advice would be to get the Kaplan study guide. Most libraries carry it so that you don't have to go and buy it. I would definitely brush up on some anatomy and work on reading passages. Good luck!!
