Kapiolani CC ADN Spring 2024

U.S.A. Hawaii

Published

Hi! Is anyone applying in Kapiolani's nursing program next year 2024?

I am feeling anxious day by day since the program is very competitive and I am feeling discouraged about some of my grades in the prerequisites subject. My stats are as follows:

+Prereqs: 6 A's, 2 B's, 2 C's (Micr and Bioc)

+Co-Req: 2 B's

+ATI-TEAS: 90.7 %

+Work Experience: CNA for 3 years

Overall, I am just worried about my grades bringing me down in the application. For both Microbiology and BioChem I got D on the first time and retook, and it just devastated me knowing that I almost got a B in those subjects, but my best wasn't enough and still got a C. Do you guys think I have a chance? What are your thoughts?

Yes , I heard the TEAS plays a big role

I know how you feel! I applied for fall 2023 and I got rejected . Anyways I believe they won't weight your biochem in your GPA ? but I think you will be OK !! I know how discouraging it might get but you got this ! Have you thought about applying to the LPN program and bridge over to the ADN ? I have applied for fall 2023 LPN program and got alternate listed so hopefully a spot opens up because orientation for that is in July but my stats are

Pre req 4 As 4 Bs 2 Cs

co req- both As

TEAS 70%
2 years of CNA experience

I am also retaking my TEAS is August to boost my score up ?

It's so tense waiting for the letters LOL. I did apply for both LPN and ADN. I applied for LPN program as my plan B just in case. I hope you will get in either of the program! You got this! Get that high TEAS score!

I think your ATI score is very competitive and definitely stands out! As far as I'm reading on forums like this one, the ATIs play a big part of the decision. I am also applying for Spring 2024.
Prerequisites - 3.9

Core-requisites - 4.0

ATI TEAS - 83.3
Healthcare experience - 7 years as a certified medical assistant

And I'm worried my ATI scores set me back. I am taking my application in tomorrow morning ?? longest 2 months of our lives. Fingers crossed for both of us ?
