I've been lurking on this site for a couple weeks now and decided to make an account simply to thank everyone for all the great information they've provided. I believe this forum really helped me out and to pay it forward I will share my experience with the TEAS V. I am applying to the clinical nurse specialist master's program at my local university and my decision to apply was pretty spontaneous as I had originally planned on going to pt school. Because of the spontaneity of the whole thing I had about a month to study. This is what I did and what I recommend:
I bought the kaplan nursing school entrance exams book and studied that quite a bit. I also went to my local library and checked out the "5 TEAS practice tests" from Mcgraw-Hill. I researched every forum and book review to find out more about other people's experience on the teas which also gave me a great idea of what kind of questions to expect. After reading this forum I realized that the ATI study guide was probably the best book I could have got but since I didn't have enough time I purchased the 2 online practice assessments instead. GET THE ONLINE ASSESSMENTS FROM ATI!!! Taking these online assessments are exactly how the test will be and dramatically improved my understanding of what I needed to know to take the test. The McGraw-hill book helped, but it also had a lot of irrelevant information, just as the kaplan book did. By combining information from this forum and the online assessments, I knew exactly how the test was going to go. I also used khanacademy.org A LOT!! This helped me undertand meiosis/mitosis, cellular respiration, photosynthesis, heredity and everything else. To conclude, the absolute best way to study for this test I believe would be to get the ATI study guide, find out the general topics you need to know, then go to khanacademy.org to get an even better understanding. If you need more help look online, everything you need is out there. Also, GET THE ONLINE ASSESSMENTS. They are worth the money. You can figure out everything you need to know from those tests.
With that being said, here were my stats:
adjusted individual total score: 85.3%
Percentile rank- National : 95
Percentile rank - Program: 90
Hope this helps

Hey Mjcarrxx,
Congratulations to you on passing the TEAS exam. Ive just began to study, and am working on the science portion of the exam... wanted to know which parts did you find most challenging on the test? Would you mind telling me your individual scores on each of the sections? Thank you in advance, and good luck with your future endeavors
sure:
Adjusted Individual Total Score: 85.3%
ATI Academic Preparedness Level: Advanced
Mean - National: 64.3%
Mean - Program: 70.6%
Percentile Rank - National - 95
Percentile Rank - Program - 90
Reading Adjusted Individual Score 92.9%
Mathematics A.I.S. 90.0%
Science A.I.S. 83.3%
English and Language Usage A.I.S. 73.3%
honestly, the science in my opinion was the most difficult. The math was exactly like the online assessments. The science was more difficult because the questions were extremely long and in depth. My test consisted mainly of physiology it seemed, with a few chemistry questions here and there. I didn't have the ATI study guide and therefore just used this forum to try to find out what would be on the science portion. I believe that if I had the ATI guide I would have done significantly better because I spent a lot of time studying things that weren't even on the test. From what I've read, the ATI guide will tell you exactly what to study. The english portion was my lowest scoring which is ironic because on my practice assessments I consistently scored in the high 90's. I think I was just mentally fatigued and didn't feel like taking the time to re-think my answers. But yes, the science was the most challenging.

Congratulations on passing the TEAS mjcarrxx!!! I too used this blog/site A LOT preparing for my TEAS V. There are threads here that really goes deep and gives you an idea of what to expect on the exam. My weakness has always being math, so I had to really focus on that and remember my basics (long division, long multiplication, conversion of decimals to percentages to fractions, and know how to apply all of these in word problems). It can be a little challenging especially because it's timed (I think you have an average of 1.5 minutes per question).
I don't really think the online tests are really relevant. At least they didn't help me. I thought they were much harder than the real exam and just made me worry about studying for topics that I didn't need to study. My final score was a 90%.
Good luck everyone that is taking the TEAS. You all will do great
