Just moved to Germany, need OR advice

Hi everyone, I am an RN, just moved to Germany Ramstein AFB with fiancée. I just came from Fl where I was working in home health and ambulatory surgery center in pre-op and pacu. My passion is in the OR, but unfortunately I was only at the surgery center for 4-5 months due to my move here. I have been an RN for 1 year and all I want is the OR. I have scrub tech experience from the military, but I'm finding that I'm almost begging for a chance. Now that I'm here I'm not currently working and still waiting for an opportunity at the base hospital. I guess my question is, how do I make my mark and get my foot in the door in a new country, as a new nurse. This is the first time in my life I have not worked and I'm feeling guilty that out of 12 months as a new nurse, i have worked 10 months and no one is going to count that as experience. Any advice, thoughts, words would be appreciated :). Thanks
