Just had to share my good news that I just got my acceptance letter into the ADN nursing program I have worked my rear end off to get into! I was thrilled because I thought my chances would be better to get struck by lightning! While my grades and test scores are decent, with over 2500 pre-nursing students at my community college, I wasn't sure I would be one of the fortunate 100 students who get into the RN program only once a year. Now the REAL work begins!

That is great I am so happy for you! I recieved my acceptance letter a couple of days ago. Isn't it so exciting but scary as well? I think I am more excited than anything but that might change once I go to the nursing orientation. How do you plan on spending your summer? Are you just going to take off time to relax or are you planning on trying to get a heads up on your reading?
Again...:ancong!:

Thanks and congrads to you too! I am very scared. I think it will be a challenging two years and I hope I can get through it all! Summer.... well, I am being a crazy girl and taking A&P II during the first 6-week summer session... normally it is a 16 week course but I think ( and everyone else I talked to) said it would be better to take only that class alone because doing it with the nursing program in the fall would be even harder. Then I am taking Eng 102 during the second Summer semister online. I looked all ALL the professors who were teaching online (ratemyprofessor.com) and found the easiest one and signed up for his class. That way if I did want to have any type of vacation I can go and still do my class at the hotel. Usually my family goes on a trip, usually just me and my parents with my son and maybe a sister and her kids to church history sites. Last year we went from KY to Palmyra, NY and Kirtland, OH which are all church history sites for my church. We stopped by Niagra Falls which was awesome! Hopefully we will go somewhere this summer.
Wow it sounds like you go on some awesome vacations and it also sounds like you have planned things very well. I am not taking any classes this summer but really it is just because I need a break. It took me 2 years to get all of my pre-reqs done and I went full time every semester including summers and I am burnt out. I decided it would be best for me to take the summer off and relax as much as I could to get back to the grind this fall. I am actually in a 3 year ADN program though that is part time so it doesn't have the time constraints that a regular 2 year program might have. With two kids at home and part time work I thought it would be better to take my time in an extra year and do a good job rather than trying to rush and maybe not learning as much as I would really like to. I am sure you are going to do great and again.... :ancong!:
