Hey everyone!
I was looking for a thread on JWU ABSN program but didn't see anything, so here is a place to start one! I was just accepted into the Fall 2023 cohort and wondering if there are any current students who could give us any insights (good and bad) on the program.
Edit: After some research, Fall 2023 is going to be the first cohort. I am worried about the accreditation status...
According to JWU website, they are pursuing initial accreditation by the CCNE.
Does anyone have any insight on how likely it will happen? I've emailed them but have not gotten a reply back and have to claim my seat at the end of next week!
TIA!

Yeah so I actually called them about the accreditation process. While pursuing the accreditation they have to wait until the first cohort takes the NCLEX. They need to evaluate the passing rate for the program before accreditation. I don't know about how likely, but I'm hoping very likely!
Ahhh that makes sense. Thanks!
I just found out I was also accepted into MCPHS-Boston, IDK if I want to risk the accreditation process NOT happening for whatever reason, so I'm leaning more towards them just for that reason.
Yeah that's my problem also. I want to attend a program that has accreditation. Especially since I'd like to work in California and we have a lot of requirements here.

If you don't mind me asking, how long after submitting your application, did MCPHS respond to your application? I've also applied with them.
Honestly, I just applied yesterday afternoon and checked the online application portal this morning and it shows I was accepted.

MCPHS University, 2nd Bachelors (Worc) 97% 91% 94% 92% 91% 93% 87% 90% 97% MCPHS University-Accelerated BSN (Bos) 67.6% 75.6% 85% 91% 97% 99% 68% 73% 76% 55% 90%
(2012-2020 NCLEX pass rates).
Where you see 68%, this was for their direct-entry program that accepts high school students as well, and the admission issues occurred in 2016 due to such a low NCLEX pass rate that year. Since then, there has been an upward spiral for the most part, until most recently, in 2021 and 2022, there has been a downward spiral. 2022 had a 67.6% pass rate, so please count it as extremely likely they will be hit again. Schools with 80% or lower have been flagged in the past. 67.6% is extremely low. Worcester Campus has a good track record, as it isn't accelerated nor direct-entry. I'd attend the Worcester campus. Stay far, far away from Boston! It isn't worth it. They are a money-grabbing school.
